Haven’t You Heard? I’m Sakamoto features the adventures of the surprisingly cool and popular high school student, Sakamoto.  He is a model student that manages to solve every problem that gets in his way.  Fellow watchers of this show liken him to the slice of life equivalent of Saitama from One Punch Man.  Sakamoto manages to deal with everything in somewhat stupid ways, but he always looks cool.  Of course, this series is a comedy, and a relatively good one at that.  The first episode alone has Sakamoto outwit a trio of bullies and fight a duel with a hornet.  The first few episodes are absolutely hilarious, but I ended up dropping the show very quickly.

The problem wasn’t that it was bad; it just was the same thing over and over again.  Sakamoto is presented with a variety of wacky problems and deals with them in style.  For a full length series, this quickly wore out its welcome.  I think I would have preferred for this series to be released in a shorter format similar to Space Patrol Luluco.  The typical twenty five minute episodes did not do this show any favors in terms of keeping me interested.  After three episodes, I felt that I had seen everything this show had to offer.  It really was continuously watching the same thing.  Again, it’s not a bad show; in fact, I would consider it to be quite good.  It just got old pretty quickly and that’s why I dropped it.  Thanks for checking this piece out and I’ll be back next week for another anime review.

  1. Definitely agree that the problem with Sakamoto is the repetitive nature of each story. It kind of loses it’s charm when you get to around episode 5 or 6 beacuse you are just over seeing the same thing play out again and again.
    Thanks for sharing.
